On Saturday, June 21, 1986, Larry Harvey and Jerry James burned a wooden man on Baker Beach. To commerate that event, exactly 17 years later on the Summer Solstice of 2003, Danger Ranger gathered a small group of people to burn a wooden man on the Black Rock Desert.
